1 lb floor beef
1 small onion (or half a big one), chopped
1 cup beef broth (or water and bouillon)
3 Tbsp Worcestershire sauce
6 oz tomato paste
2 cups frozen greens (peas, carrots, corn, inexperienced beans)

1⁄2 tsp rosemary
1⁄2 tsp thyme

  • Brown floor beef in a big sauté pan on MED/HIGH.
  • Add chopped onions. Stir sometimes till onions begin to look “milky,” about 3-5 min.
  • Stir in broth, tomato paste and Worcestershire sauce. Add frozen greens, prepare dinner about 5 min, stirring sometimes.
  • Sprinkle flour over combination and stir in; stir in rosemary, thyme, salt and pepper. Proceed stirring periodically till gravy is thickened; take away from warmth.
  • Preheat oven to 350ºF. Put together mashed potatoes per container instructions.
  • Add meat combination to backside of pie pan. Cowl with ready mashed potatoes; bake 20 min. Relying on your pie pan, you could want a sheet of foil beneath to catch drippings
  • Sprinkle caraway seeds and coarse salt on prime of potatoes. Return pie to oven for 10 extra min (prime must be beginning to flip golden brown).
  • Take away from oven; let relaxation for at the least 5 min earlier than serving. Serve with horseradish if desired.
